PR is more accessible, omnipresent and ambiguous than advertising and marketing yet it still retains a focus, a goal and a special audience. Marketing and PR seems to be more like the experimentation of a certain process; who is the audience and how do we tap into their emotions in order to attract them? AND WILL THIS WORK? PR puts these questions into practice and any medium is fair game in order to establish an relationship with that specific audience. You never know if ads or marketing strategies will work but PR strategies, press releases, and events always get the attention you crave from your public.
Okay well hopefully by the end of the semester I’ll be able to look back on this post and say, “boy was I wrong” about my loose guess on what this crazy industry really has up its sleeve.
